Siége Social OHO

Commercial - Office

The 16,100 ft2 new head office of the Outaouais Housing Authority is an efficient mass timber and steel hybrid building. The 2-storey design features nail-laminated timber floor plates on the second level that are left exposed on the underside to serve as the architectural ceiling of the ground floor.

The NLT panels were fabricated off-site with ZIP system sheathing included over the NLT assembly. The ZIP system not only provides the required structural sheathing, but also provides moisture protection for the panels during construction. Prefabricated mass timber panels helped to speed up construction.

More and more companies are recognizing the significant benefits that warm and inviting wood buildings can offer their employees. Modern research has demonstrated that incorporating wood and other natural elements into indoor environments promotes productivity, creativity, and occupant well-being.
