On Friday, June 21, 2024, the construction management firm Dancor, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of our Element5 mass timber facility in St. Thomas, Ontario, followed by a lunch and reception at the Elgin County Railway Museum.

The expansion - which includes a new Glulam plant, will increase the size of our current facility substantially from 130,000 square feet to over 350,000 square feet of floor space with office frontage.

Element5’s St. Thomas investment is the largest in the city in the last 20 years, according to Sean Dyke, chief executive officer at St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation.

“What it does for the community is add that prosperity that we’ve been looking for,” added Dyke. “The city has been very fortunate. The last few years have all been growth years. This is another element of the expansion.”

Also on hand for the event was Rob Flack (pictured above), Ontario's Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness and MPP for Elgin-Middlesex-London, who gave remarks at the Elgin County Railway Museum.
